Description

The first exercise asks students to respond to two readings (coming up with descriptive words) to describe the nature of the texts before moving on to the prose continuum in Allyn & Bacon. Students are then asked to place each text in its appropriate place on the continuum. This first exercise emphasizes the difference between thesis-driven and exploratory writing. The second activity asks students to get into groups (with one recorder) to complete activities that deal with gender bias in the English Language.
