Professing Multiculturalism
Description
Min-Zhan Lu first published “Professing Multiculturalism: The Politics of Style in the Contact Zone,” in the December of 1994 issue of College Composition and Communication. In the nineties, composition studies gained considerable stature as a field of research. In 1994, according to Fulkerson’s Composition Studies, the term post-process was first coined by John Trimbur and Anthony Pare. With the emergence of multimodality and visual rhetoric, students were arguing with more than written words. According to CIPHER, nearly half of writing faculty was part-time (US economy in recession, unemployment high—especially in English—from 1992-97).
