Rock ‘n’ Roll Rhetoric

Download

Spring_RRR_syllabus.doc

Description

Rock and Roll Rhetoric was born out of a desire to write about twin interests: rock music and rock writing.  The majority of the reading for this class comes from Kill Your Idols(Barricade Books, 2004), a collection of essays created to question assumptions about “classic” music.  I use these essays along with the book’s overall purpose to introduce rhetorical analysis and strategy to students.  If this syllabus is inspiring, I hope that you will find your own way of merging common student interests with our academic pursuits.
