Darrell Spencer receives Baker Fund Award

Darrell Spencer received a Baker Fund Award for his project "The Department of Big Thoughts: A Novel." The John C. Baker Fund was established in 1961 in honor of O.U.'s 14th president. Each year the Baker Fund awards funding to faculty members for research and creative projects.
Zakes Mda featured writer at Ohioana Book Festival

Zakes Mda is a featured writer at the Ohioana Book Festival in Columbus. He will be participating in a number of reading and panel discussions at the Ohioana Library and in outreach programs at some schools in the Columbus area and at WOSU radio station. Professor Mda is also one of the ten Ohio writers who are being honored by Ohio First Lady Frances Strickland.

New Ohio Review Receives Internet Recognition

Poets & Writers, Inc has included NOR as a new journal in its News and Trends section. Poetry Daily, which publishes contemporary poetry that is currently in print, has republished "A Gust of Wind" by Allen Grossman, which appears in the current issue of NOR.
