Professor Zakes Mda to Receive Honorary Doctorate in Literature

Professor Zakes Mda received an honorary doctorate in literature during the month of June in 2012 at a graduation ceremony at the University of Capetown. Mda has been named as the eighth public figure who will receive an honorary degree from UCT in 2012, according to the UCT's news archive (volume 31.08). Currently, Mda "commutes between South Africa (serving as director of the South African Multimedia AIDS Trust in Sophiatown) and the US, where he works as a professor of creative writing at Ohio University."
